Pre Workout Supplements

I’ve never been a big “pre-workout supplement” fan, but when I was living in New Zealand I figured what the hell, why not give one a try.  First thing I did was check on the return policy because shit over there is SUPER expensive.  If I remember right, I paid over $100 for SuperPump!  YIKES… cuz in America it’s less than $30!

SuperPump didn’t affect me like it does normal people however.  (I don’t think anything does.  Ie, caffeine has no effect on me or stimulants in general. Doh!)  I didn’t get all amped up on SuperPump or anything… Even if I took 3 scoops.  However, I did notice a better focus, pump, and vascularity.  I could care less about pump and vascularity for powerlifting, but it was kinda cool anyway.

Another pre-workout that I actually liked was from a mate of mine in New Zealand called The Curse.  It also really helped my focus and kept me on track during my workout like SuperPump.  Plus, it’s really cheap like SuperPump.

The one thing I REALLY HATE about all pre-workout supplements (and supps in general) is the fact that they all put a bunch of artificial sweeteners and crap in them.  Honestly, it’s great they taste pretty good, but who gives a shit!  I want what the supplement will give me by taking it.  If I wanted a nice tasty drink I’d go get some lemonade or something.  That’s why I actually have started making my own pre-workout homebrew.  (Tastes horrible, but it works and I know exactly what’s in it!)

My short list of pre workout supplements
(I included Gaspari’s SizeOn also because
I have tried it, but for the price, I don’t like it)

I may act like a 12yr old a lot of the time, but that's because I have a genetic defect that will not allow me grow up. HOWEVER, I do take strength training and fitness very seriously and I love using what I know to help others reach their fitness goals and avoid the bazillion mistakes I've made in my 25+ yrs of training. Since I don't know everything, I never stop learning. Note: I am no longer a "certified" trainer, but I truly understand more about fitness and health now than I ever did with that official piece of paper.
